Hello – I’m Nick and I’ve been drumming for 20+ years
Since the age of 14, I’ve played drums for a variety of bands both socially and professionally, and have performed as a session drummer in function bands from quiet acoustic to big band performances. I can play a range of styles including modern rock, classic rock, funk, country, blues, pop, reggae, jazz, punk and metal.
I was taught by renowned drum tutor Glenn Clarke, where alongside tuition, I was lucky to attend celebrity drum workshops with professional drummers Chad Smith (Red Hot Chili Peppers) and Steve White (Paul Weller).
During University holidays I started teaching drums, initially as part of the Rock School summer workshops, and picked up professional drum tuition locally teaching students, adults and children, from drumming beginners through to intermediate grading.
After graduating in Oxford, I played drums professionally for 5-piece band Toliesel and performed at a number of music venues and festivals across the south of the UK. Toliesel performed regularly for Sofar Sounds, Truck Festival, The O2 Academy, and the Jericho Tavern as headliners or main support. A recent move to Cornwall and a shift in lifestyle has prompted the launch of Offbeat Drums Ltd – professional drum tuition and session drumming in Truro, Falmouth and surrounding areas in Cornwall.
